April Garden Tips

April Showers Bring May Flowers so… lets Welcome Spring!!

Here are some garden tips from Dave Dix, my preferred landscape contractor:

This is often the time of year when people apply mulch to their garden beds.  Mulching helps to prevent weed growth and retain moisture around new plantings.  Use a granular, pre-emergent herbicide such as Preen to enhance weed control before applying mulch.

Thanks to Dave Dix, DCD Lawnscaping, Inc. for these March garden tips.

spring gardens

March can be a tough month weather wise, but working hard outside on a rogue warm day before spring can be very rewarding.  Start pulling weeds and cutting bed edges now to displace spring work.  This is also the proper time to cut back ornamental grasses if you have them on your  property.
